Apollo- DOB July 2003

Apollo is the biggest sweetheart! He knows what works to win affection and does exactly that! He had a rough start though- he was too skinny and he was heartworm positive. Apollo LOVES his crate and often plays or naps in it. He makes friends fast with other dogs and is very good with the neighborhood kids. His charming personality is finally starting to show now that his treatment is finished. He now knows the commands sit, lay, roll over and shake. He is also house broken. Please consider sponsoring Apollo to help with the cost of his treatment. A big thanks to Tina Womack and Dalia and Brandon Alford for sponsoring Apollo!

Doogie- DOB 2001

Doogie is a nice big boy who was a stray. Sadly, he is high heartworm positive, so has to go through treatment before he can meet you - probably not until December.

Duchess- DOB 2004

No kids under 5

Duchess loves people and is a bit pushy for attention. She likes to be close to you and is thrilled to get a belly rub. She is a bit shy of other dogs. We're working on that, though, and are sure she'll be fine around them soon. In her last home the other dogs picked on her, so it's understandable. She's not fond of the crate but is quiet once she's in. She is heartworm positive, so will not be ready to meet you until June, after her treatment.

Duchess tends to be a little bit space possesive of other dogs in her space(probably due to her low exposure to them) Due to this we will not adopt her to a family with children under the age of 5.

Please consider sponsoring her heartworm treatment.

Duke 7- DOB Approx 6/2004

Hi! I'm Duke. I am a yellow boy, who my foster family says is just the sweetest boy they have ever seen! Back in December someone took me out into the country, put me out of the car and just drove off - they never came back, I waited and waited, but they never came back. A nice family found me and kept me safe and warm until I could come to Lab Rescue. I am housetrained, and I never bark. I do talk though when I want your attention. I am very mellow for a puppy, but I do love to play with other dogs and people too. I am still a little uncertain about new things, but I adapt quickly. My foster family keeps trying to put me on this thing they call a leash and walk me. I'm still not sure I like that, but it gets easier and more fun every day. If you've got a spot in your family for someone like me, I sure have a spot in my life for a forever family!

Grady- DOB Jan. 2007

Gretchen- DOB Jan 13 2007

Gretchen is the third puppy of the group dropped b/c they did not sell in time. She too has been living with other dogs and seems to be getting along like a normal lab puppy too.

Grover- DOB

Grover is a huge boy who has lots of energy.

Hazel- DOB 1996

Hazel is a lovely older gal who is simply a sweetie. She is about 9 yrs old and was found wandering around looking for home. Unfortunately her home was not looking for her as insistently. She is in very good shape and rides well in a car.

Hazel walks exceptionally well on a leash and would be great for someone who wants to mosey along with her. She also knows sit, down and roll over. She does super in thunderstorms, and just curls up at your feet. She absolutely does not chew inapropriate things, and is completely trustworthy in the house. She also does not bark..despite her foster sibs encouragement.

Hazel is currently living with several other dogs and a young child. She has been tolerant of the child, but we feel she would do better where the child is slightly older and understands not to hit the dogs in the head and so forth. She is eligible for our Seniors discount and absolutely redefines the term "Golden Oldie." Please consider Hazel!

Hazel is heartworm positive, so will be going through treatment soon.

Thanks to Nancy McLaughlin and Debbie Kubena for sponsoring Hazel!

Kestrel- DOB approx 1998

Kestrel is a lovely yellow girl who is a little overweight right now, but is getting into shape in no time at all. In fact, she's down to 75 pounds! She is very sweet- loving on people for all she is worth, and is also very good with kids. Kestrel loves to go on walks, and adores being around people. Despite her size she is quite agile and energetic. Kestrel is competely housebroken, and would make a great family dog.

Kestrel needs you help! She has developed some kind of really nasty skin infection that is requiring lots of antbiotics and possible surgery to remove the lesions. Please consider donating to help her cause.

Thanks to Dalia and Brandon Alford for sponsoring Kestrel. Thanks to Tricia Blakistone for donating to support her!

Kody- DOB September 2005

This puppy will only go to experienced lab homes. Kody and his siblings came to us as strays with their Mom Layla. He gets along very well with other dogs and has a fabulous personality. Like most puppies he has razor sharp teeth, chews on everything in sight and is not housebroken yet. Please only apply if you have had previous lab puppy experience.

Remington- DOB 2008

Rico- DOB 2002

AKA reek-o because he smelled so bad when we got him from the shelter! Poor little Rico! He was very sick and stuck in a pen with a very rude dog and hence quite stressed out. Despite all that, his sweet personality shined through during his evaluation, so he was pulled from the shelter into HOTLR.

Rico is an incredibly sweet boy who gets along well with the three female labs in his foster home. He also is just in love with the 10 month old 2 legged creature he sees, licking her each time she cries! He appears to be housebroken(did not even try to mark when he first came in) and is very familiar with house things such as doggie beds, Nylabones, and such. He does have the bad habit of trying to claim ownership of the furniture, and he checks out the counters with the intensity of a starving dog.

Rico does walk very very well on a leash and appears to be a lab that you could not lose if you tried, as he is already right there next to his fosters. He relaxes quite easily in the house, but has energy enough for long walks or runs. He crates very easily, in fact often choosing to sit in his crate when the door is open. Overall, Rico is just plain "A COOL DOG" and will be an easy addition to anyone's home.

Rio- DOB null

Hello there! I just wanted to give you an update on Rio, he's doing great. He has adapted to his new home, and is a huge ham for the camera because he loves the flash! He has done well being in his crate and just loves giving kisses when you come home. I just want to thank you for your support and time through the process, he is wonderful! He has even adjusted to the Gentle Leader, now that was a task. Thanks again, we'll keep in touch.

Roscoe- DOB 2003

Roscoe is a good boy who sadly is high heartworm positive, so, we'll take it slowly to cure him of that. He wants to play with other dogs and is learning leash walking manners.

Please consider sponsoring Roscoe's treatment. Thanks to Dalia Alford for sponsoring Roscoe!

Scout- DOB approx 2/2004

Scout is a lovely young lab. His family's circumstances have changed and he has come back to join us. He has had professional training and is a quick study. He has lived with a family with young boys around the 6-10 yrs and thoroughly enjoys kids. He plays ball and loves to play tug. He is basically trustworthy in the house, though he will surf the counters if there is food out. All in all, Scouty has proven to be a great family dog!p>

Scout is fine with dogs, but does chase cats that will run. We have not seen him with cats that will stand their ground. He LOVES to be with his people and tries to be a lap dog if he could find a lap big enough.P>

Many thanks to Brian and Melanie Engel for sponsoring Scout.

Many thanks to Kaci Smith for sponsoring Scout.

Stormy- DOB 2008

Triscuit- DOB 2002

Triscuit is a very sweet yellow girl who was a stray. She must have been successful as a stray because she is 10 pounds overweight. She weighs 77.8 pounds. She knows sit, shake, down and rides very well in the car. She goes into the crate easily and sleeps through the night. She is housebroken. She gets along well with other dogs. She's great on a leash and never pulls. She eats along side our dog with no problems. She rarely barks except at the squirrels teasing her in the back yard. She has no obvious reaction to cats. She is very loving and will lay at your feet while you watch TV or sit at the computer. She is only 3 but is very layed back, perhaps because of her extra weight.

Wesson- DOB 2004

Wesson is a nice boy who is low heartworm positive so won't be able to meet you until early May. He loves to play fetch, even throwing the ball back at your feet and then staring at it to get it to move for him to fetch again!

Update 4-28-08 Wesson had his treatment last week so will be ready for you in 6 weeks.

Wesson lives with a cat currently and thinks she is quite interesting but leaves her alone. He also has a 3 1/2 yr old chasing him down daily whom he finds intriguing. Wesson loves to lie on a doggie bed, but would also love the couch if allowed. He sits nicely for dinner and has no food issues. He gets along well with other dogs and is trustworthy in the house-not needing a crate when you leave. Overall, Wesson is a happy boy who will be a great addition to someone's family if you want past the puppy stuff!

Wrigley- DOB 2001

Wrigley is about as sweet as you can get. She really should be named Wiggley since this is how she greets you at the door--- whole body all a wiggle! She is good with other dogs, cats, and fantastic with kids, including the toddlers! You can see the abuse the toddler in the household puts on her in both the video and the pictures to the left.

She knows sit, walks well on a leash and does not door dart. She is not a wanderer. She is housebroken and sleeps all through the night. She does not counter surf, though if you leave it at her level, she will happily check it out and possibly swipe it at that point. She does not exhibit any food aggression.

As you can see from her video, Wrigley does have a slight limp- we had X-rays done this past week. Wrigley was diagnosed with degenerative elbow disease in both elbows as well as hip dysplasia in both hips. The vet did not feel that surgery was recommended at this point in time, but she will require maintenance for these for life. She currently is on a supplement and is getting Bi-weekly massages. The change in her is profound! She actually thinks she plays ball! She bounded after one the other day and is now starting to jog around, rather than amble. Not sure which specific thing is having the impact, but she certainly feels SOOOO much better!

Wrigley is a gentle soul that gets along well with both 2 and 4 legged friends.

Check our her wonderful demeanor on this video of Wrigley

Thanks to the Skovan Family, Amanda Dupre and Pat and Ron Nethery for sponsoring Wrigley

Ace- DOB approx 2-1-04

Ace is a typical lab puppy with lots of energy and enthusiasm for everything. He plays ball with lots of gusto! He likes people and is getting to know other dogs. He has seen cats and seems interested in them, but not in a bad way. We just pulled him from a shelter and will update as we get to know him.

Addie- DOB 2001

9/23/07: Addie is a true lab and her favorite activity next to fetching is hanging out with the family. She plays very gently with the 2# puppy added recently to the household and doesn't even mind sharing her bone with him. She seems to be good with kids, too. She walks well on a leash, knows "sit", "lay down" and is working on "stay". She will make a great addition to any home that is willing to love her! 8/19/07: Addie is doing great in her foster home!! She is a sweet girl, loves to relax with the family and play fetch (not too much right now because she was recently spayed). She follows you everywhere and gets along great with the other dog in the house. Addie is housebroken and her tail wags like crazy just at the sound of your voice! Yesterday, she went up to the local coffee shop and did great out in public. She prefers to sleep right at the head of your bed (or in it, if you let her!). Addie is a nice ol' gal who rides well in the car, is interested in other dogs, seems to be housebroken, and is another expert at the "Labrador Lean."

Thanks to Sarah Brown for sponsoring Addie.

Amos- DOB 2001

Amos is a big boy who has perfected the Labrador Lean! He gets along with other dogs and is very calm, except during thunder storms when he gets a little nervous. He ignores cats. He rides well in a car, swims, and just loves to be with people.

Amos is heartworm positive so will not be available for adoption until late August. Please consider sponsoring Amos's heartworm treatment.

Update 8-5-05: Amos did not react well to the heartworm treatment and had to spend a lot of time at the vet getting extra attention to get well. He lost about 15 pounds in about 10 days. He seems to be on his way to recovery, which is definitely good news for this big sweetie! Thanks to Kathy Brainard and Ron and Pat Nethery for sponsoring Amos! Thanks to Nanvy McLaughlin for sponsoring Amos!

Update 9-17-05 Amos has finished his treatment and recovery and is doing well. He's a big ole love-bug! The only bad thing about Amos is that he wants to go explore without his people, but that is easily prevented.

Andretti- DOB 2004

Very handsome, fit 65/70 pound lab - a body builder if I may be honest- they call that "English" in my circles! I can be anything you want me to be. I can cuddle with the best of them and yet I am a very active energetic boy who loves to play ball(check me out with the 31/2 yr old!) and romp in water. I even go jogging(no Marathons please though). I am quite social-getting along with boys and girls alike. I will even put up with your cat! though if it runs, they are kind of fun to chase. I enjoy kids but have none of my own to drag along. I am gentle with treats and clean up after myself. I even put the lid down! I won't muddy your furniture unless you toss the ball up there and I am NOT a backseat driver!!! Granted I don't ask for directions either, but I figure you can be the navigator and I will tag along. Please don't let my disability fool you as the last time I was in public, it took the nice lady chatting with my mom about 15 minutes to notice that I only had 3 legs- I overlook it, so I hope you can too! I am looking for my forever home and will do whatever it takes to fit in!

Thanks to Michael Hardinger and Pat Nethery for sponsoring Andretti.

Check out these great videos of Andretti playing ball and swimming at the annual lab picnic(yes a tripod CAN swim-with a little help from a life vest!)!

Andy- DOB 2003

Andy is a very sweet boy with lots of energy but settles down well and is content to lay at your feet. He has a beautiful shiny black coat and a gorgeous big block head. As you can see he is a true water dog and loves to swim. He ignores the cat and lets the toddler do pretty much whatever she wants to him. He walks well on a leash and knows sit. We are currently working on stay, down, etc. Andy definitely wants to please and LOVES treats so he should be pretty easy to train. He is housebroken, crate trained and sleeps all night without a peep.

Angel- DOB 2004

Angel is a sweet girl who gets along well with other dogs, plays some fetch, and is proving to be good with kids.

Angel- DOB 1996

Angel is a sweet, English-style lab who was found as a stray. She gets along with all the dogs and people she meets. She is so easy to have around, it's almost like not having another dog. She knows sit. She does not pull on the leash during walks and has worked her way up to .8 mile 3 times a week. She has NO food aggression at all and does not mooch at the table. She is trustworthy in the house and crates well if you need to crate her. She rides well in the car and knows where her spot is. She is certainly living up to her name! Angel will be a super addition for a family with young children or a family that wants an older dog to hang out with them. Angel is very healthy and has lost a few pounds since coming into the program. She is a bit hard of hearing, tho. She is an excellent swimmer and jumps right in when given the opportunity.

Thanks to Nancy McLaughlin with Hudson, Dallas, Colt & in memory of Willie for sponsoring Angel!

Angus- DOB 2003

Angus is a big boy who plays fetch and knows some tricks - sit, down, shake, spin, high five and roll over - but he has no idea of how to walk nicely on a leash, so we are working on that. He also likes to talk to his foster mom, as evidenced by the last picture! He is good with other dogs and also ignores the cats. He is crate trained and house trained. He sits patiently and watches his foster mom eat meals without being too much of a pest. What a really cool dog!!!!!

Apollo- DOB 2001

To say that Apollo is a huge love-bug is an understatement. This dog loves nothing more than to love and be loved on. Ok, he may like water more than being loved on. Maybe... To say that Apollo is huge would also be correct. He is a physically large dog but is very mindful of his size and is quite agile too. He has excellent house manners in that he does not door dart, knows sit, down and wait. We are working on long stays but right now short stays are good. It's almost as if he knows he's big and does not go crashing through the house. If you expect it of him, Apollo is a lamb on a leash and is a pleasure to walk. He is also crate trained but the crate is really unnecessary as he is completely reliable in the house.

Apollo also loves children. He has lived with a 3 year old toddler and handles big hugs and the occasional pushes just fine. He gets along well with other dogs, leaves cats alone when told, loves a good bone, toy or Kong treat, and is overall a really cool, easy going dog. Don't be fooled by his prematurely gray muzzle (hey, it happens to some of us way too early) and his size. He has the energy, stamina and playfulness of a dog half his age.

Apollo does have allergies to fleas, dust mites, molds and commercial dog food. His forever family would need to be comfortable administering the allergy protocol that has been established for Apollo, especially with regard to his food, flea control and allergy meds.

Thanks to Jill Kinney and Andy Conner for sponsoring this big ole boy.

Ariel- DOB Jan 2005

Ariel is another one who was dumped on the side of the road. She's probably going to be a BIG girl if her feet and legs are any indication! She is crate-trained, pretty much house-trained, swims well, gets along with other dogs, plays fetch, chases the cats a little, and is just a sweetie all the way around. She gets into typical puppy trouble - thinking shoes are a good chew toy!

Update 7/13: Ariel loves to be with people and dogs. She is so cute, and whimpers a little bit when you leave the room. She is very sweet! She has, for the most part, stayed out of trouble in the house and is happy with plenty of toys around.

Ariel is getting to go to Kids' Camp for 2 weeks where she will learn all kind of fun things from kids attending the camp. Thanks to Diana Smith of Hearts and Paws for allowing Ariel to be a camper!

Arrow- DOB 2000

Arrow was found as a stray. He is incredibly mellow. His foster takes him everywhere and he displays FINE manners no matter where he goes. In fact people always comment on what a good boy he is. He would be absolutely terrific as a therapy dog.

Arrow currently lives with several other dogs and a 17 month old toddler. The toddler is a typical toddler and climbs all over Arrow, pulls his tail and ears if not caught and generally torments him according to her age. Arrow thinks this attention is a wonderful game and sticks close because the number one rule with toddlers is that they have food!

Arrow is food motivated and trains easily. He knows sit, down and wait. He does NOT door dart. He also walks very well on a leash. He allows the toddler to pull bones and toys out of his mouth. He is too quick to let her take food, but has displayed absolutely NO food agression at all, either to people or other dogs. I do not know how Arrow is with cats, but I imagine he would try to chase them unless told not to.

Arrow is learning to play ball...his favorites are raquet balls. He loves toilet paper, and will swipe a roll if he can get it. He loves to cuddle with plush squeeky toys, but does not typically shred them. He does counter surf a bit, so you need to keep an eye on that. He crates absolutely SUPER and is housebroken.

All around, Arrow is a super dog and will make a fantastic family member for the right family.

Art- DOB 2003

Art is a nice boy who is recovering from heartworm treatment. He is housetrained and crate trained. He gets along with other dogs and cats. He adores belly rubs - sliding right into position as soon as he is asked to lie down! He plays fetch and loves to go for walks. Car rides are pretty cool, too!

Please consider helping pay for Art's heartworm treatment.

Thanks to Lindsey & Rudy Stoett in memory of Bud and Arthur Woods for sponsoring Art!!!

Astro- DOB 2005

Astro is just a baby who doesn't know much yet but will learn lots of good things soon. He plays in the hose and is good about going into a crate so far. He's met several other dogs and a small child and has done well with all. 6/24 update: Astro is fitting in well with his foster family. He has two labs, two weiner dogs and two cats to play with, so he stays very busy. He is so smart and gentle, does great with children and cats. He loves the river and is a natural swimmer! He sleeps in his kennel all night without a peep or an accident. He pulls on his leash a little at first, but calms down after a few minutes and then does fine. He knows how to sit and he comes right away when you call for him. He is just a beautiful boy! 7/18: We just found out that Astro has allergies, seems to be something that is blooming this time of the year. It is affecting his eyes, ears and paws, but the medicine is clearing it up. This is probably something that he'll have to deal with every spring and/or summer. He is also a petite male and probably won't get much bigger; he is currently at 50 lbs. 7/25: I can offically say that Mr. Astro is house trained. He goes to the door when it is time to go potty. I am so proud of him! He will make a perfect indoor companion, all he wants to do when he is inside is lay down next to you and cuddle. He is such a lover!

Athena- DOB 2004

Athena is a cute, calm little girl who is very happy. She was found as a stray and likes the other dogs she has met. She likes to fetch. Athena knows how to use the doggy door and also walks well on a leash. She knows sit and has "the lean" down pat! She loves to lie at your feet and chew on a toy or bone. At times, she can be a little toy possessive with her foster brother, but we are working on that. She absolutely loves to be with her people and takes treats softly. Although she does not enjoy going into her crate, she is quiet once she is in there. She sleeps through the night and won't wake up until you do!

Autumn- DOB approx 12/2001

Autumn is a very lovely yellow girl whose owners gave her up b/c "it was not working with the new baby." what they added was that Autumn was also looking for attention and was under their feet all the time and was hyper.

She is a very sweet girl who has not jumped on anyone yet..She has not shown herself to be out of control so far, although we just got her, so this could change. They did feel comfortable with her around their child though. She also was exposed to cats and did not appear to have issues with them either.

Her current foster has a 4 month old and says she is absolutely no problem..as you can see from the photo to the left! Her worst sin is to lick and lick and lick her face. She does not charge the door. She sits. She is decent on a leash. She is not pushy for attention. She gets out of the way! She plays ball. She seems to get along with other dogs, but will not put up with one being pushy. She does not try to climb on the furniture nor has she counter surfed yet. She thinks cats would be great fun to play with and did a play bow with the one she saw. When the cat did not respond in kind, she gave up and wandered off. All in all, a very good dog and well deserving of a great home!

Ava- DOB 2003

Ava ia another one who thinks she should be a lap dog. She has met several dogs and wants to play wih them. So far she is ignoring the cats. She walks nicely on a leash.

Azalea- DOB 2000

Azalea is a sweet girl with lots of spunk who got treated for heartworms on April 24, so she'll be ready to meet you in early June. She is crate trained and seems to be house trained. She currently lives with three dogs, and two cats, and does great with all of them. When the other dogs go for their walk, she is fine being left in the house with a chewy. She is very devoted, and follows her foster mom around the house. She doesn't pull when on a leash, but is still working on a good "heel". Azalea is ready for a loving home.

Update, October 4, 2008: Azalea has been in her new foster home for a week now and has fit right in with a male Lab and two female cats; everyone gets along very well together. She is making good use of the doggie door.

Azalea loves going on walks and will only need limited training to walk better on lead. She particularly enjoys the running and sniffing opportunities when in a leash free environment. It is a joy to watch her roll in the grass scratching her own back with all legs kicking, and then she flips over and scratches her belly too.

She is going on daily walks, which is improving her fitness level and reducing the stiffness in her joints. She is on a diet, which should also be helpful to her joints, but does not complain or beg for food. Azalea is one easy going Lab who just want to be with her people. She is going to make someone or a family a wonderful and loyal companion.

Bailey- DOB 2004

Bailey knows sit and plays fetch. She's crate-trained and seems to be okay with cats. She counter surfs and periodically jumps up on people - both habits we're trying to stop.

Bailey- DOB 2000

Bailey is a very sweet dog who still has some puppy in him. He likes to play in the water, fetch (but not too much), go on his daily walks, and just hang out whereever you are. He always loves to meet new people, so you will get to meet a lot of new people, too! Of course, Bailey is housebroken, knows his basic commands, including heel. He is pretty good on a leash, though he is always eager to meet new people and other dogs. He is gentle with children and ignores cats and squirrels. Like all labs, he loves food and treats, and will run into his crate waiting for his daily treat. He is a good-natured, and does not have a lot of bad habits. If he is in a playful mood and he doesn't think you are paying enough attention to him, he will start picking up shoes and paper to get attention. Toys will eventually be shredded, so durable toys are your best bet.

Thanks to Dayna Worthen in memory of Mack for sponsoring Bailey!!!

Bailey- DOB 2000

Hi! My name is Bailey. I'm a seven year old girl with long hair. I'm very passionate about two things in my life: TOYS (particulary balls) and WATER....in that order. Just toss me a ball and I'm yours. If you don't have a ball, don't worry. I'm really good about bringing one to you and just dropping it on your lap, in case you wanted to play too. After some good rounds of fetch, you can watch me relax in the doggie pool and catch some rays. I'm more mature and laid back than some of those in my foster family. I do get excited when someone comes to visit or I hear my foster brother and sister bark. Sometimes I don't have a clue as to what's outside, but I'll do what they do. When we do have company I will bark until you tell me "NO" and properly introduce us. I admit, for such a gorgeous girl I am a little shy at first, especially around males. I do warm up fast after a few pets, a treat, and of course a BALL! I walk well on a leash, but I do get distracted when other dogs are with me so you'll have to remind me to walk next to you. I LOVE car rides almost as much as toys and water. However, I don't like a lot of traffic or busy streets. So, if you live in the city, I'd do better visiting you rather than living with you. I REALLY love to hang out in the back yard or go for a walk in the park or a quite neighborhood. I am housebroken and crate trained. I won't get on the couch or the bed. I prefer to lay down beside you on my bed. When I fall asleep you'll quickly hear my "Bailey Groan" of happiness that my foster parents laugh at. If you're interested in meeting a girl with a lot of love, feel free to fill out an application. Love, Bailey

Bambam- DOB 2001

Bambam is doing wonderful in his foster home. If you are looking for a "true Lab" and all the wonderfulness that goes with the breed, he's your boy! He's sweet, full of personality and all muscle. He has the typical big, beautiful head of a Lab, gorgeous sleek black coat and his body was built to run, swim and play and would fit perfectly into anyone's active lifestyle. Although he loves being active he is also gentle and sweet enough where he would enjoy the attention of little kids hanging on him and playing with him. Tennis balls and serious head scratches are his biggest turn-on, provide either of these to him and he's all yours! To say Bambam loves to play fetch is probably an understatement, in fact, if you don't play with him, he has a way of playing by himself by tossing the ball up in the air and running to get it once it lands. Pure entertainment! As much as the family cat wants to tease him to play with her, he simply can't be bothered and pays little attention to her and her antics. He's housebroken, crates well and sleeps through the night and knows "sit" almost on a hand signal. Still improving on not pulling on a leash, he just finds the world around him so fascinating and wants to check it all out.

Bambam is heartworm positive, so will not be available for adoption until late June. Please consider sponsoring him.

Bambi- DOB Jan 2005

Bambi was the runt of the group dumped on the side of the road but has done a good job of catching up to her sisters in size! She gets along well with other dogs, is crate-trained, and knows how to swim.

Bambi is getting to go to Kids' Camp for 2 weeks where she will learn all kind of fun things from kids attending the camp. Thanks to Diana Smith of Hearts and Paws for allowing Bambi to be a camper!

Banana- DOB 2003

Banana (not called that by his foster parents) is a sweet boy. He's big, 81.5 lbs and full of energy. He's getting along well with his foster sister but would like to be King! He's adjusting well to the new home life. He has an L shaped scar on his head of unknown origin but that doesn't detract from his good looks; sleek coat and light color. He knows sit and shake and sometimes, down. He has played fetch and returned the ball and dropped easily however it must not be his favorite game. He seems easily distracted by squirrels and other dogs when he plays. He loves toys and plays with all of them! He does very well on the leash and responds well to being pulled back. He goes in the crate easily and sleeps thru the night. He seems to want to chase smaller animals. He would need work to learn how to get along with cats. He is loving and likes to find a good spot to lie near you, not too close but wants to be near what's happening. He doesn't beg at family meal times and doesn't seem obsessed with eating. He doesn't scarf down his food, he's a dainty eater! However, he is tall enough to counter surf easily and has taken food once when the temptation was too strong. He is a great swimmer and dives right in the water off the dock before even knowing how deep it is! He has also patiently allowed a bath. He seems to be completely housebroken. He will make a great addition to your family!

Banda- DOB June 2003

Banda is a very pretty black girl just under 2 years old. Despite her young age though, she has the maturity level of an 8 year old dog. She's VERY friendly and gets along well with dogs, cats and children. She loves to fetch (don't leave your dirty socks laying around!), likes water and is a very fast runner. She's house-trained and crate-trained, and is quite intelligent. She's learning her basic obedience lessons very quickly. Banda is a "love sponge" which means she'll sit with her head in your lap and let you pet the fur off of her. She needs and craves human companionship and will try very hard to please you.

Thanks to Didi Carpenter for sponsoring Banda!

Barbie- DOB 2005

Barbie is a shy little thing who was scared out of her wits at the pound.

Baxter- DOB approx 6/2004

Baxter is a voung yellow puppy who had a very rough start. He had Demodectic mange, but is cured of it now. This is a noncontagious, stress related type of mange. He was a stray for most of his early life. Despite this, he is quite well socialized and very sweet. He is house-trained and is crate-trained. He knows "sit." Baxter gets along well with other dogs and cats, and likes to swim, too! He also loves to cuddle with people. Many thanks to Kaci Smith for sponsoring Baxter!

Baylee- DOB Jan 2005

Baylee is a short, cute little girl who has a lot of energy and loves to chase and play with her foster brother. Baylee would do really well with another dog in the house. She is housebroken and crates well, but b/c she's behaved so well thus far, I only crated her for the first 3 or 4 days - she has access to the entire house when I'm away. She already knows "sit," "down" and "shake," and she appears to know "stay" (or is learning the command quickly). She tries to get on the furniture but responds right away when told to get down. I will say, however, that I believe she may sleep on the sofa when I'm not in the house! Even though Baylee is playful, she's pretty good about being able to lay near you and chew on a rawhide and just relax, too. She pulls a lot on the leash at the moment, but we're working on that. She may benefit from a Gentle Leader harness. Baylee also loves the water...she gets in our pool and swims a lap almost everytime she goes into the backyard. (I spend a lot of time drying her off!) :)

Belinda- DOB 2006

Belinda is a sweet girl who loves to hang out with people. She's quiet in the crate and gets wide-eyed when she sees a cat. She was heartworm positive and got treated on February 14.

Belinda is one of those dogs who has the rare ability to entertain herself - she loves life - very well behaved and eager to please! She plays well with other dogs but is really a people puppy - she bonds quickly. She is crate trained and house trained. I have found her to be very polite and well behaved in the house - no trash or counter surfing! She is extremely gentle and super sweet!

Bert- DOB June 2005

Bert is a cute yellow boy who knows nothing yet but is learning quickly! He has met cats and other dogs and has been fine with them. He is a big baby, though - screaming bloody murder when he got his shots!!!! He does play fetch, but distracts easily. So far he has slept quietly through the night in his crate. He is very close to being housetrained - no accidents in more than a week! He's a good swimmer.

Bette- DOB 2000

Bette loves to roll in the grass and play with her buddies. She's great to have around other dogs, kids and cats loving everyone around her. She is very easy tempered and mild mannered and is not dominant around any of our other dogs due to her easy going nature. She is very well behaved, she sits, comes and is fully house trained. She enjoys walking and walks very nicely on a leash; no tugging at all. Her tail wags constantly when we walk her. She loves to play London Bridge and also loves swimming. For someone who wants a full blooded lab but is afraid of having a rambunctious dog, Bette is the perfect choice. Bette has a clean bill of health and is low maintenance, no need for a crate. She is loving and can't wait to be adopted!

Betty- DOB 2004

Betty is a sweet girl whose days as a puppy factory are now over! She is recovering nicely from her spay surgery. She is 2-3 years old according to the vet but acts older in that she is calm. She hasn't barked once since coming to stay with us on Jan. 4th. She sleeps thru the night in the crate without incident. She enjoys going on walks and has a graceful trot to her step. She rarely pulls but likes to wander and check things out. She had a bath at Dirty Dogs and was very well behaved. She is getting along well with her foster sister and the other dogs she meets. She especially likes boy dogs. She has no food issues. She is tall enough to reach the counter and can balance on her back two legs while checking it out. She has a beautiful silky coat and pretty white teeth and weighs 65 lbs.

BJ- DOB 2006

BJ is a sweet little boy who was left behind when his people moved out of their home. Not only did these people seem to "forget" their dog, but they also forgot to give him any heartworm prevention, so now he is yet another one who is heartworm positive and will need treatment before meeting you in November.

Update 9-20-07 The pound thought BJ was 3 years old already, but we think he is about a year old - there's just too much puppy about him! He has kennel cough right now and as soon as that is done he will get his heartworm treatment.

Update 10-29-07 BJ is halfway through his recovery from his heartworm treatment and is doing great!

Thanks to Amanda Dupre for sponsoring BJ!

Blanche- DOB 2004

Blanche is a beautiful, almost white, yellow girl. She is extremely happy and well adjusted. She is eager to please. She knows sit and down and we are working on stay. She goes into her crate without much issue (usually just takes a treat). She loves to play fetch, and if you're not into it she will happily toss the ball for herself. Though she is an active dog she does know when it is time to calm things down and find a spot to curl up for the evening. She sleeps out of her crate at night and we do not hear a peep from her (except for the occasional snort) until morning. She gets along famously with her foster brother. She has not shown any food agression and will wait patiently for her turn at the water bowl. She tends to pull a bit on the leash at the beginning of our daily walks but quikly calms down and very easy to handle. She is sure to make a wonderful addition to most any home.

Blossom- DOB 2003

Blossom is a nice girl who was shy at first but has quickly figured out that people are loads of fun! Her new motto seems to be "scratch my ears and I'll be your instant lap dog!" She rides nicely in the car, crates well, and plays fetch.

Bo- DOB 2000

Bo knows lots of things - sit, down, fetch, house-training. He goes into a crate very easily. He seems to ignore the cats, and he plays well with other dogs. He loves to play with his rope or hard rubber toys. He can swim well, too. He loves to go for walks and is pretty good on the leash, just wandering a bit and not too much of a puller. He has a very sweet disposition and gets along well with the humans and other dogs in his life. He is fed along side our dog and there is no competition over food or food issues. He is rather vocal, barks for your attention if he's ignored. He is completely housebroken and will let you know when he needs to go out or come back in! He has a very light colored, sleek coat and he weighs 69 lbs.

Thanks to Veronica Trias for sponsoring Bo!

Bob- DOB 2005

Bob is a silly cute little guy. He is smallish for a boy so will fit nicely in your car, boat etc. He too has gotten some training and has met several other dogs and did fine. Update 9/13/06 - Bob is settling in to his foster home quite well. He was a bit "in your face" at first, but has gotten past that. He really just wants someone to love him. He will sit nicely next to you and only ask that you pet him. This can become interesting if one does not shut the bathroom door, I have discovered! In there he wishes to sit DIRECTLY in front of you. He knows sit and shake quite well. He gets so excited to "shake" that he often falls over midstream. I have been working with him to go in the kennel on command by feeding him a treat when he gets in there. He caught on to this quickly. He is a counter-surfer, but that seems to be getting less and less often. I am hopeful that he will grow out of this. Update 10/12/06: Bob is really filling out and settling down - well as much as a young male lab will settle at this age. He's very affectionate. He has completely stopped the counter surfing. Evidently when he began to realize that the food would come, he didn't need to scavange for it any longer. He will go directly into his crate with the "Kennel" command. Of course, he gets a treat when he gets there so it isn't such a mean place to go.

Thanks to Fiona Bate for sponsoring Bob!

BonBon- DOB 2004

BonBon is a sweet chocolate girl who just got pulled from the pound. She was a stray; lord knows why since she did not jump up and knows sit and shake. She chased after the ball, but was too distracted to bring it back.

Bonnie- DOB 2002

Update 12/29/07: Bonnie has been in the foster home for about 3 weeks. She is house trained, crate trained and walks BEAUTIFULLY on a loose leash. She craves your attention and likes to be in the house with the family.

Thanks to Sarah Brown and Julie Ellison for sponsoring Bonnie!

Brandi- DOB 2005

Brandi is a sweet mix from the tip of her nose to the tip of her tail. She came to us extremely ill and nearly died. She is now fully recovered and tons of fun to be around. She is very playful with people and dogs. She is SUPER with my 3 and 6 year olds. She is very gentle and plays fetch, tug of war, and chase with them. She walks well on a leash and with a harness my 3 year old can walk her. Off leash she has been very responsive and comes when called. She crates well, although I rarely use it as she sleeps on a dog bed at night and hangs out outside with her foster brother during the day. She does need crated in the car as she used to get car sick. She has gotten much better and just drools now. She does counter surf, but since she is so food motivated she would be a breeze to train. I bet she would love to learn tricks for the kids. She is such a doll and would be a great addition to any family.

Brandy- DOB 2005

Brandy is a cutie who loves to play fetch and is crate trained. She plays well with other dogs.

Brangus- DOB 2004

Brangus is a nice boy who met kids and dogs and has done well with them. He seems to be housebroken. He plays some fetch. He is about 15 pounds overweight, but we are working on correcting that.

Broc- DOB 1999

Oh My!!!! Broc is a drop-dead gorgeous, blockhead, big yellow boy! He loves to run, play and give kisses. Looking for an older lab that will bond and be your best friend, then Broc's the one!

Brownie- DOB 2003

Brownie is a wonderful Chocolate Lab. He listens very well and is a joy to be around. He walks well on a loose leash, which is a real pleasure. He likes being around you, but he is confident enough that he has no problems going off and finding a nice cool place to hang out.

Brownz (as he likes to be called) gets along well with other dogs once he has been around them for a few minutes. Brownie has a friend that is more his age who comes over and plays with him. They run and jump and wrestle. Lots of fun.

When you come home he wants to hang out with you and will bring you a ball to play with, but he is not pushy or overly demanding. Of course he knows that all he has to do is put his head on your lap and give you the eye and you will do whatever he wants you to do because there is no way to resist those eyes.

Brownie has spent time at a local Kennel learning good manners and the time there has paid off. Brownie would probably make a good Agility Dog.

Don't let my size fool you friends

Some things don't ever go out of date

Like Caring and Sharing

And the smile I'll be wearing when I meet you at the gate

Now it's time to embrace the Hippy faith

Of Peace and Love once More

Cuz the 90s are over the Yuppies are gone

And Brownie is lying on your floor

Bruce- DOB 2003

Bruce is a nice, sweet boy who gets along well with lots of other dogs and people. He is completely recovered from being neutered and has adjusted well to being in his new foster home. He is tall and skinny right now, 67 lbs., perhaps he hasn't quite grown into his large head. He knows sit, shake, down and settles very easy, as long as he gets to be near you. He sleeps through the night in the crate and has learned it's a good place to be. He wanders a bit on the leash and likes to mark but he doesn't pull. He absolutely loves water and the baby pool going in several times a day. He's also an excellent swimmer, goes right in the water and swims. There have been no accidents in the house or any food issues. He shows no particular interest in cats although there are none living with his foster family. He likes to hang out close with you and doesn't run off if he gets to accompany you outside without a leash.

Bruiser- DOB 1999

Bruiser is an 8 yr old boy who was brought to the pound due to the family moving. So far he has met a few dogs and while at the trainer, they thought he was simply a sweetie pie. He is about 90 pounds right now, but needs to go on a diet. He knows sit and has figured out not to run his family over to go out the door. He is doing well with a toddler and unlike her, puts himself to bed at night! Once he is down, he is out for the count! He is not a wanderer and does not appear to have any food agression. So far he has not shown any interest in toys, chewing or otherwise.

Buck- DOB 2003

Buck is a happy boy, as evidenced by the speed of the tail wag. He gets along with other dogs and rides well in the car. We just got him so don't know anything else about him yet.

Buck- DOB 2002

Buck is a very heavy-headed Lab that needs a lap in which to rest that big ol' head. Do you have an available lap? This guy is a sweetie that will follow you around and keep you company all the live long day. Buck rides very well in the car,is quite affectionate and walks quite nicely on leash. He seems to be housetrained and has decent house manners but we are just getting to know him so we'll update as we learn more.

Buddy- DOB 2003

Buddy is a nice guy who gets along with other dogs and rides nicely in the car. He knows sit, down and shake. He is very mellow and would be a very easy transition into a new home.

Update 10-28-07 Buddy is not much of a fetcher, but he absolutely goes bonkers chasing the beam of a flashlight!!!

Buffy- DOB Jan 2006

Buffy is a cutie who is already showing signs of being a good retriever. She is also getting good about crates and cats and other dogs. She wags her tail constantly!

Bunny- DOB 2000

Bunny is a sweet black lab who was turned in to the pound by her owners because she "followed the other dog." We are not quite what that means, but so far she seems to be doing quite well. She was very scared at the shelter, but is starting to show her true personality. She walks extremely well on a leash and is good for grooming procedures. We went to Petsmart and she met a few other dogs nicely. She was not quite sure how to handle the floors, so apparently she has not had that much exposure to a tile type floor. She met her foster sibs very well and is currently determining what fun a house is. Bunny does know how to sit. As she settles in, she is likely to become a very good companion.

Buster- DOB 2003

Buster is a sweet boy who always greets you with a vigorously wagging tail, lots of licks and short rapid hops up and down (although if excited enough this can progress into jumping up on you occasionally). He walks well on a leash, is housebroken and trustworthy in the house alone. He loves a good game of fetch. Although he tries to demand that you throw the ball by barking loudly. We have been working on this and Buster is slowly learning that barking no longer gets the desired result by that a sit on demand does. We have been working on down and leave it in addition to the sit command. He has been to doggie daycare and got a glowing report for good behavior. He is not much for playing with other dogs though.

Buster- DOB 1999

Buster is a 95 pound, male, black lab. He reminds me of Will Rogers. Just as Will is quoted as saying that he never met a man he didn't like, I think Buster never met a man, woman, dog or cat that he didn't like. He gets along with everybody;my dogs and cats at home, and all the creatures he meets at the dog park.

Buster looks up at you with the most soulful, loving, brown eyes. He quickly learned the doggy etiquette of the household. Even though I allow my two female labs to sleep on my bed, Buster has remained content with sleeping on a dog bed on the floor. He is housetrained, and has never had an accident or chewed anything. In short, he gives more than he gets.It hs even been suggested that he would be a good therapy dog!

He is a calm dog in the house, but at the dog park, he really lights up, and vocalizes. He can hardly wait for me to throw the ball. Like a gentleman, he allows my girls to get the ball, and then follows them until they drop it for him. Then, he brings it back to me, and barks for me to start it all over again. Somehow, all three have developed a game that they, alone, understand.

Butter- DOB Feb. 2005

Butter is a big goofy boy who likes to have fun. He hasn't had much training in doggie manners, but that is coming. He plays well with other dogs and barks at cats. He knows sit and seems to be housetrained. He likes to lick things - furniture, tv screens, you name it. He absolutely adores having his belly rubbed.

Butter is getting much better on a leash and is learning basic manners. He's a smart boy!

Thanks to Kathie Schafer for sponsoring Butter!

C.T.- DOB 2004

C.T. is a nice boy who knows some basics like sit and down. He also plays some fetch. The poor thing is yet another one who is heartworm positive, so will not be available to meet you until late September or early October. He is good with other dogs, and ignores cats. He loves to lie at your feet and chew on his nylabone.

Please consider sponsoring C.T.'s heartworm treatment.

Thanks to Doug Mitchell for sponsoring CT!

Cadbury- DOB 2006

Cadbury is a sweet boy who just came to us, so we will post more as we get to know him. He's currently getting some professional obedience training.

Cammie- DOB 2003

Hi, My name is Cammie (it's really Comanche, but that does NOT fit!) I'm a full lab. My mom never registered me because she had me fixed. I'm a light yellow and I'm full of energy. I'm as cute as a bug! I LOVE people and I love the new little person that showed up in May. He's growing up now so I can get closer to him. I LOVE to lick his face and I love to be near him and my people. I'm on the smaller side and sometimes I forget that. I try to be the protector, but new things frighten me sometimes. I'm getting better though, I'll cautiously check them out! Sometimes I might let you check them out first! My dad is in the Army and the Army is about to put everyone into turmoil with lots of moves coming up, so my people decided it was best for me to find a more stable forever home. My people are really sad with their decision, but they want what's best for me. I'm kennel trained and house broken. I like to play outside and I'm good with chewies. I'm also good on a leash. I'm a sweet little thing and I love to give puppy kisses. I'm looking for a new forever home. I know my people will miss me lots, so I hope they help me find a loving home so they can know I'll be happy!

Carla- DOB March 2005

Carla is a bit shy but perks up quickly. She's actually very good on a leash and is getting better about crates. She enjoys being with her people, lying down by your feet comfortably. She's mature for her age - not really showing much of the usual puppy craziness, although she does jump for joy when she first goes outside with you in the mornings! She's learning about cats and is good with the other dogs she has met, although she'd rather be the one to determine what space they occupy - obviously something we're working on! She met a little boy and sat nicely for petting.

Cayenne- DOB 2000

Cayenne is a sweet, overweight girl who knows sit and down. She is house-trained and crate-trained. She plays fetch and is curious about cats. She's happy to play with you or to just lie down by your feet. She loves attention and especially likes back and belly rubs. She is a little over weight and could use a little daily exercise. She is currently on a diet which is helping control her weight. She walks well on a leash without the need for a "Halti". She doesn't seem to have been around many other dogs, so we are working on appropriate dog greetings. She is currently being fostered with another dog and they are getting along well.

Cece- DOB 2004

CeCe is a sweet yellow girl who thinks people are just simply a good deal. She is busy learning a bunch of new stuff but would love to meet her forever home. She will sneak out of a door and go for a romp if allowed, but is happy to see you and is pretty easy to catch again. She did great with a bunch of dogs this weekend. We will add more as we get to know her.

Champ- DOB approx 2002

Champ is a yr and a half old black boy mix. He is housebroken, crate trained and loves to play. He gets along well with other dogs and with cats. He is sweet and attentive, but he needs some training. He is around 55 pounds, so is fairly small. More info to come.

Champ- DOB 2005

Champ is another new one we're still getting to know. He loves to play fetch and gets along with the dogs he has met. He will aslo settle down by your feet for a good kong-chewing session. He's been interested in the cats, but only because they are smaller furry things that move!

Charlie- DOB 2002

Charlie is a lovely chocolate boy. He loves to play ball. He gets along with other dogs and loves belly rubs. He is crate-trained and house-trained. He is quite a charmer - leaning on you when he sits!

Charlotte- DOB 2003

This poor baby is another one who is heartworm positive and is also battling the nasty kennel cough, so will not be available to meet applicants until some time in April. Right now she is very ill, so could definitely use your good thoughts. She is housetrained and crate trained and is very happy in spite of being so ill - her tail never quits wagging! Please consider sponsoring her treatment.

Charlotte is feeling much better!!!!!!!! She has settled in nicely at her new fosters. She met several new dogs with narry a look. She has put on some weight but will never be a large dog..only about 55-60 pounds. She LOVES licking the toddler...and the toddler adores her! Not only does her tail not stop wagging, but her entire body waggles with it! She is a happy sweet little thing who is extremely well mannered in the house. She is trustworthy and housebroken. She knows sit and wait. She is NOT a door darter, nor does she wander off. She has a good come and stays close by when off leash. She does not counter surf, but is highly motivated by food. She stays off the furniture and enjoys her doggie bed. She hardly barks. Her favorite thing is to be with her people. She is quite mellow in the house and starting to figure out how to play ball. She loves soft plush toys. Charlotte is a very easy dog and will be a great companion.

Thanks to Doug Mitchell and Mary Madeleine Reardon for sponsoring Charlotte!!!

Cheddar- DOB 2005

Cheddar is a sweet sweet girl who rides well in the car, gets along with other dogs, and seems to be housetrained. I just have to remind her to go outside while she is learning how to use the doggey door. She gets along well with my 13 year-old Lab. Cheddar walks beautifully on a leash; she stays very close and does not pull or tug on the leash. At night she sleeps in a dog bed right next to my bed. She has great manners (does not jump, does not bark excessively). When I am busy in the kitchen, she just finds a place to lie down close by. She has shown very little interest in the kitchen trash (or any other types of trash). She is playful and not at all pushy or territorial. Cheddar will transition easily and will make a great addition to a very lucky family.

Chef- DOB 2003?

Chef is a skinny boy right now but we are working on putting on the pounds. He's getting some professional training, but still doesn't like to be penned up - he'd rather be out running with you! He has met several dogs and a toddler and has done well with all of them. He plays fetch.

Chessie- DOB 2006

Chessie is a cute little thing who thinks belly rubs are well worth the time. She is currently getting some training and is doing quite well. She might actually be a Chesapeake Bay retriever rather than a lab. We are suspicious due to her unusual coloring--but her temperament was so sweet we decided to pull her anyhow. Update 10/3/07: Chessie is definately going to be a people dog. She loves to lay at -- preferably on -- your feet. She will put her head on your knee and almost croon at you! Crate trained -- no problems, not a peep from her. She is extremely gentle and gets along fine with her two foster sisters. I believe she will also be a great companion to a family with children. Chessie is also very good at retrieving. Most of the time she will bring it back even!

Chex- DOB 2007

Chex is another cute girl who could lose a few pounds. She's met dogs, cats and horses and has been fine with all of them.

9/28: Chex has been with me a week now. She is the most docile and sweet one year old lab ever. When she got here she didn't know any voice commands, and didn't really understand playing and fetching. Everyday she is getting better with the commands and learning more ways to play with Maggie, her friend here.

She is very friendly with everyone, and has been good around animals. She really likes to stick to your hip when she's not playing, but everyday she seems to give more and more space. So far she walks on a leash quite nicely and she will keep working on learning her voice commands.

Chica- DOB 2001

Chica's name suits her well, she is a super sweet little girl! Chica has had professional training, knows sit and down, and is very well behaved. She is housetrained, good with other dogs, and doesn't seem to mind cats. We are currently working on crate training. As any other typical Lab, Chica loves the water and goes out of her way to find it, even if that means putting her face in her water bowl! Chica is very affectionate and loveable and is content to just be near you. She definitely is not a fan of thunder and lightning, but really who is? As you can see she is great with kids and is also just the right size (about 70 lbs.), not too big or too small. Chica has a silly streak and enjoys playing with her 7-month-old foster brother or just lying on the cool tile. She doesn't seem to have any interest in jumping on the furniture, counter-surfing, and doesn't mind baths at all. One look in her big sweet eyes and you'll be hooked.

Chipper- DOB summer 2004

Chipper is a happy boy who is a tad overweight. He knows sit and shake and loves to play fetch. He is learning to walk nicely on a leash. Chipper is not totally housebroken yet, but he is very close. The poor baby is currently battling kennel cough, so could use your good thoughts. Please consider sponsoring his treatment.

Chloe- DOB Mar 2003

Chloe is a lovely yellow girl whose owner brought her to the shelter when she realized she did not have enough time. Chloe has lived with a cat and thought it might be great fun to play with. She plays ball. She also lived with two children under the age of 10 and just adored them. She knows sit and does not seem to jump all over you. She will be a great addition to someone's family.

Chloe- DOB 2003

Chloe is a sweet girl who gets along with other dogs, is housetrained, and rides nicely in the car. 11/7/07 Update: Chloe is crate-trained as well. I put her in the crate yesterday afternoon on her first day in Foster care. Last night I didn't feel the need for her being crated and left her out. She slept on a pillow next to my bed without a peep. She is past that puppy stage where one must always be diligent about the surroundings. Chloe is not a counter surfer and REALLY likes to have her belly rubbed and to lay at your feet. For a family with children, she's your girl!

Chuck- DOB 2006

Chuck is a gorgeous boy who has done well with kids and other dogs. He seems to be housebroken. Chuck lives to play fetch with you! He also thinks that being on the furniture is cool - a habit we are working on ending. Update 5/29/2007: Chuck has settled into his foster home quite nicely. He loves being with his people best, although he is incredibly patient with his doggy foster sister, who pesters him constantly. He has also been very gentle with children. And he's such a handsome boy! He can 'sit' on command and will 'stay' for a treat. He is learning 'down', but still needs a little encouragement. He does well on a leash, and even better on the gentle harness. He is house-trained and knows to stay off the furniture and out of the trash. And he goes easily into his crate at night and sleeps quietly. Chuck has three main loves in life. The first is fetch - and he will fetch anything! Balls, sticks, frisbees, you name it! He would do excellent at frisbee with a little training. And his absolute favorite is to fetch in the water. Which brings us to his second love, swimming. Chuck is a swimmer in the truest sense. He will swim by himself or with others, he will swim for a treat or for nothing, he will swim out to get a stick or just out for fun! It's hard to imagine that Chuck could love anything more than fetch or water, but he does, and that's where you come in. Because what Chuck loves most of all is having a family. Chuck probably didn't have the best home in his past life. He is particularly shy when first meeting men, but is willing to open his heart to anyone that can show him a little love and kindness. He also didn't have adequate nutrition, and he now takes every meal as if it were his last. He didn't even seem to know about 'petting' when he first arrived. Chuck needs a person that can be patient with this. He needs tons of affection and lots of guidance. He needs someone with a throwing arm. ;) If you think you could be this person for Chuck, then he would absolutely love to meet you!

Chuck and Schroeder- DOB 2000 and 2002

These two boys are easier together than many of our single dogs!

Chuck and Schroeder are a great pair of yellow boys! Their original owner was a HOTLR volunteer. Sadly she recently died from cancer and specified in her will that if no one else would take the boys together that they were to come to us and not be separated. They are house trained and crate trained. They ride well in cars. They know sit, they wait at the door, and they loose leash walk very well too. The first picture shows Schroeder on our left and Chuck on the right. Then there's Chuck laying by the window, and Schroeder laying down also.

They are currently living with a 4 yr old child and doing fantastic with her. Also they live with a cat currently and pretty much ignore her(though if she ran, I bet they might chase her). Schroeder does check out the counters, and Chuck thinks the couch might be worth sleeping on. Both boys use a doggie door and are housebroken perfectly! They do not door dart and are very sweet. Also, they are both smaller- Chuck is about 60-65 pounds and Schroeder is only about 70 pounds. They are quite mellow and are VERY VERY easy. Despite having to go together they will be a very easy pair to adopt. Please consider them.

Thanks to Anne Fennell and the Gomez family for sponsoring these boys!

Chula- DOB 2001

Chula loves to play fetch, loves water and enjoys belly rubs! She knows sit, walks well on a leash, and seems to be housetrained. Chula is also currently living with several other dogs in her foster home as well as a small child. She has been very busy licking the baby and figuring out hwo to settle down. She wants to be close to her foster mom.

Cinder- DOB 2002?

Cinder is a sweet girl who is a tad shy and is heartworm positive, so will not be available to meet applicants until late March or early April. She's met several other big dogs, a cat, and a horse, and has done fine with all of them. Please consider sponsoring her treatment.

Thanks to Ron & Pat Nethery, Keri Chmelik, Sarah Brown, Julie Bellsnyder and Janet Tausch for sponsoring Cinder!

Claire- DOB 2006

Claire is a real cutie with lots of energy. She has met kids and other dogs and did well with them. She loves to play ball and is a perfect compact size. Claire is very affectionate and likes to follow her foster mom around the house supervising housekeeping chores. Claire likes to eat and has quickly learned where her food and treats are kept, but she does not beg for unoffered treats, nor for table scraps. She is housebroken. Claire also appears to have had some obedience training and is extremely quick to learn and eager to please. She knows how to sit and lie down. We're still working on "stay". She also appears to be trained to stay off all furniture, except her mom's bed intermittently, but we're working on that too. She's very energetic and would probably do best with an active forever family or dad and/or mom; however, she knows how to settle in with her for-now pack of one-human, while she [foster mom]is cooking, reading, or watching tv. May 15, 2007 Update Claire has settled into a good routine. She knows when to go outside to "guard the backyard" during the workday, but is thrilled to come inside when work is done. Claire is getting to know her neighborhood and learning to heel while walking. She has learned to shake hands. She also knows her bedtime and sometimes puts herself in the kennel to get the mini-biscuit that is her bedtime treat. Claire also likes to play hide & seek, by scooting in and out from under the bed, while mom's getting ready for work in the morning. Check out this fun video of Claire:

Clara- DOB 2002

Clara knows sit, down, and shake. She rides well in a car and seems to be housetrained. She likes playing fetch and belly rubs. She ABSOLUTELY does NOT jump up...amazing! Clara is a dainty eater and settles down nicely in the house. She met her foster sibs with sniffs and wags. She is quite fascinated with the toddler in the house, licking her and sniffing her regularly. She even allows the toddler to take bones from her and to roll on top of her. Clara does not appear to have any food aggression. Clara has that perfect energy mix where she will be settled, except when you are ready to play ball, then she is ready to rock and roll. She does want to sleep on the couch..and she crates extremely well. She is trustworthy in the house.

Clover- DOB September 2005

This puppy will only go to experienced lab homes. Clover is a very sweet little girl who came to lab rescue with her siblings and her mom Layla. She is the most independent of the three puppies and the explorer of the group. Her favorite thing to do is play tug of war with anything she can find in her reach. She gets along very well with other dogs. Like most puppies she has razor sharp teeth, chews on everything in sight, and is not housebroken. Please only apply if you have had previous lab puppy experience.

Thanks to Kathie Schafer and Ray Hebert for sponsoring Clover.

Clover- DOB 2007

Clover is an 8 mon old choc puppy who was brought in due to being too hyper. Now if you can imagine a lab puppy having energy, this is simply an amazing thing. She is spunky and fun loving and is currently getting some training. She is ready to meet you and would be great in an active family.

Check her out playing ball and running with her buddies.

Clyde- DOB 2003

Clyde is a big boy who is way too skinny right now. He rides well in cars and crates nicely. He's another one we just got so will post more as we get to know him. Sadly, he is yet another one who is heartworm positive, so it will be February before you can meet him.

Update 1-30-08 Clyde has gained enough weight to get treated, so that is happening this week and he'll be ready 6 weeks from now.

Update 2-1-08 Clyde is now home and starting his quiet time for his heartworm recovery. He likes to lean on you, and is perfectly happy to lie quietly at your feet. Everyone at the vet clinic said they really liked him a lot.

Coco- DOB approx September 2004

Coco is an energetic young girl who is the life of the party! She loves to play ball and knows sit. She has lots of enthusiasm and a passion for everything life has to offer! She gets along well with other dogs and cats. She is good about going into a crate and is quiet once she gets there. She is much better about not jumping on people - only when she is very excited. She has just learned to swim and is now fetching and swimming at the same time. She LOVES the water!! She is on the high end of the energy scale, so will need an active family to keep her busy and out of trouble. She loves to play, but is also content to lay at your feet while you watch tv or sit at the computer after she has exerted some energy. She loves people! She's very soft and sweet. She is a great little girl!

Coco d Nut- DOB 1999

Coco is a real Nut. Get it? Coco-Nut, Coconut. OK bad joke but it got you reading. Coco is a real charmer. Very easy going and gets along with everyone. She went out to Red Bud Isle today and had a grand time running around. You would never know she has arthritis. She kept up with all the other dogs. One thing that is great is that when you call her she comes and checks in real quick. Coco has also slimmed down from when she first came to HotLab.

Coco d Nut rides well in a car. She knows sit and down. She is pretty agile! So far, she has met foster sibs and done very well with them, exhibiting no food aggression or possessiveness. She is good with cats. She is housebroken. She does not like crates at all, but has no real need for her to use one as she is trustworthy in the house. She has lived with a cat and steers clear! She is a big lump of love and loves to be petted! She does have a slight bit of arthritis in her right hip, but some pain meds ensure she feels pretty good. She does not let it slow her down at all. At the park she loves to play chase with other dogs and scampers all over the place. But with her arthritis we have found that she would do best in a home with carpeting as it helps her get up and move around.

Cokez attended the recent HotLab Picnic and was a real trooper. She ran and ran with all the other Labs then got tuckered out and found a nice quilt to curl up on. She ran for a good 3 hours and had the time of her life. On the way home she was passed out in the back with other Labs laying all over her as well as her laying all over them. No one seemed to care.

Many thanks to Thomas and Deborah Nordyke, Angelika Wahl, Marla and Peter Kessler, Jan Gauvain and Stanley Tartakov, Robert and Lucille Kirkham for sponsoring Coconut!

CocoBella- DOB June 2003

CocoBella is a cutie pie of a chocolate lab whose family came on some very rough times medically. She is extremely submissive and gets along fine with cats as you can see from the picture. She is good with young children and was taking quite an interest in a toddler she met. She knows sit and down extremely well and will not move until you release her. She also knows to wait at the door if you ask. She could walk better on a leash, but is no freight train.

she rides well in a car and likes water. She loves to play with other dogs, but does not jump up on people particularly.

Her only concern is that she has some food allergies. These have already been clearly defined and her treatment started, however she will still need a little bit more treatment before this is completely resolved. Her diet is one you can pick up at Petsmart or Petco, so nothing too serious there.

Cody- DOB approx 2001

Cody is a large yellow boy(110 pounds)who is very attractive and is incredible with people. He knows sit, down and shake and has had several weeks of formal obedience training. He also walks well on a leash. He plays ball, kong or whatever it is you throw for him and he ADORES water!!!! He has been around small children and is currently fostering with a toddler and doing very well with her. He in fact adores basically any of the attention she lavishes on him, including the beatings on the head! His prior owner gave him up because Cody did not like to be outside and did not like cats at all. Turns out the cat part is very true- the outside part; well he does happily follow his foster sibs out and in and meanders, but he has not been just left out as of yet. Cody crates well.

Cody is doing well with other dogs. He is quite excited to meet other dogs and needs a reminder to approach quietly, but he has met lots of dogs, boys and girls alike with no issues. He has been trying frantically to get his foster sibs to play with him, however they are older and have pretty much banished this puppy to his own corner...but boy would he love it if he had some one to play with, although he seems to be just fine without that play. I think he would also be fine being the center of attention for a family as well.

Cody seems to have a sense of humor and somewhere has learned that chase is his favorite game of all time, so he is not yet a candidate for off leash adventure--although if you bring out some food, he comes IMMEDIATELY! He is a bit food motivated, but does not seem to be food agressive. He would counter surf if left unattended with food, but is trustworthy in the house otherwise. As you can see in his picture, he has quite the expressive face!

Colt- DOB 2003

09/23/07: Colt is a beautiful dog. He loves to play fetch and rough house with the volunteers. He is always close by to lend a helping hand with whatever "chores" are being worked on. He is a strong muscular boy that will make a great running or hunting partner. The picture posted here does not do this guy any justice. You have to see him in person to really appreciate him.

Connor- DOB approx 2001

Connor is a very lovely light yellow boy. He is fairly large around 85 pounds. He is quite sweet, just hamming it up to his evaluators easily! Connor does not appear to have much exposure to many situations as he startles very easily right now. He is a quick study though and gets more comfortable each day he is in foster care. More info and pics to come. Connor is HW positive, so will not be available for adoption until the end of Sept.

Connor needs your help. He needs to undergo special treatment for his Heartworms. These are a very easily preventable disease, however, Connor was not on preventative. Please consider sponsoring Connor.

Cookie- DOB 2004

Cookie is a nice young girl who knows sit and plays fetch. She has met many dogs and has done well with them. She's still learning that crates are okay. She is also learning not to jump on people, but already knows how to lie down by your feet and chew on a bone. She is a good swimmer. These pictures are from her first time in HOTLR - she is a bit heavier now. She was recently returned to us through no fault of her own, so we are working on getting to know her again.

Cowgirl- DOB 9/5/02

Cowgirl is a very attractive, smart, active yellow girl. She too was left because her owner was moving. She seems to be ok with other dogs and people..with a big grin most of the time. Cowgirl is housebroken and lives in a foster home with a toddler whom she is doing very well with.

If you would like more information please fill out an online application

Cyrus- DOB 2007

Cyrus is a sweet black boy who got turned in because his people were moving into a home that doesn't allow dogs. He's met many dogs and done well. He's currently getting some training, too, so that will make him even more ready to join your family!

Update 9-3-08 Cyrus is turning into such a sweet boy! He gets along with dogs and cats and is quite the swimmer! He's the one starting out in the middle of the pond just ahead of the yellow dog:

Daisy- DOB 2005

Daisy is a very energetic girl who knows sit and shake and rides well in the car. She loves to play with other dogs and definitely wants to be with her people. She walks well on a leash and is learning her manners. She is always ready to play ball or snuggle up and give you kisses. She also really loves to give hugs!!

Daisy's personality is so much fun. Daisy just loves life, especially if that life involves a good belly rub or squeaky chew toy!!

Update 3-9-08 Daisy's motto is the song "I want it all!" She loves to have multiple toys in her mouth anytime she can. She swims well, although running around the bank of the pond is a ton of fun, too! She's been getting lessons on how to settle in the home and chew on one bone, as opposed to gathering ALL of them!

Thanks to Christina Hardinger of Skillfulpaws.net for sponsoring Daisy!

Dana- DOB July 15, 2006

Dana is a big playful girl who likes water and other dogs. Her coat is quite poor, but is already showing tremendous improvement. She will be a very dark chocolate when she is shed out. She was purchased as a puppy and the family realized she was more dog than they had planned on. She is a fairly typical 1 yr old lab puppy. Check her out:

Darling- DOB 2005

Darling, the name says it all. She is a wonderful Labrador who has a zest for life and a desire to learn. She is very reliable in the house, but is crate trained. She knows her sits and stays. Walks nicely on a leash. She is a cat chaser so would do better in a house without cats or with cats who have been around dogs and know how to stand their ground.

Dar (as she likes to be called) has adorable golden eyes. She know how to work them too. Everyone who has met her just melts. She also knows how to entice you into a belly rub.

Darling came to us heartworm positive and is mid-way through her treatments and will be ready to meet her forever family in mid September.

Dar has been learning a lot during her convalescent period. She is getting very good at stay and knows how to take a treat very gently. She would love nothing better then to be able to run and play with the other dogs.

Darren- DOB 2005

Darren is one of the happiest and sweetest boys you will ever meet. He plays well with other dogs, LOVES car rides, and ignores cats. He gives very gentle kisses. He thinks kids are pretty cool! When Darren first came to us, his demeanor belied his age. He appeared to be very mature for the age estimate given at the shelter. We later learned that he was calm because his hips were bad enough to cause him not to want to move around much. We got his left hip replaced and he is now quite a happy, bouncy boy! He is also quite adept at counter-surfing and jumping onto the furniture - habits we are discouraging. He has been a STAR about being crated so much during his recovery. He is a moderate size - approx 75-80 pounds, and a lovely, rare fox reddish color.

Update 12-14-07 Darren got the best news today! His hip has healed properly and there is no need at the present time to replace the other one! He has no restrictions on activity and is a "free man." Exercise, keeping his weight good, glucosamine...that's all he's going to need to live a normal life. The surgeon says that 70% of the dogs like him never have to have the other hip replaced, so we are ecstatic for him!!!!

Update 12-19-07 Darren got to go swimming today, and as expected, LOVED it!

12-29-07: Darren has enjoyed going to the park and meeting new dogs. He loves to take walks around the neighborhood and is learning to sit before crossing streets. Darren got to go to doggie daycare last week and was described as "the life of the party." He continues to crate beautifully and has improved at staying off counters and furniture.

2-14-08: Darren is learning new habits! He no longer counter surfs and sits to be invited on the bed. He also sits before being served his dinner and before coming inside. He loves going for walks and has made lots of neighborhood friends at the dog park. He walks great on the leash and loves to stop at the playground to say hello to toddlers. Darren would be a WONDERFUL addition to any family, but especially one with children. He is very calm and patient and gives sweet, gentle kisses when invited.

A huge THANK YOU goes out to all of you who made his new hip possible for him!

Thanks to Debbie Kubena, Nancy Goggans, Doug Mitchell, Margaret Hutchison, Rosemary Garcia, Andrew Puntch, Laura Fino, Amanda Dupre, Kaci Smith, William Conner, Heather and Chris Schmitt, Andy Conner, Jill Kinney, Jana Brown, Michele L Jacobsen, David Litton, Matthew Pauli, Kevin Roberts, Robert Dailey, Friends of ShaqAsorus, Greg Sharp, Greg and Marnie Johnson, Harold Hebert, Carol Bolen, Sharon Cole, Stefanie Dwyer and Blake Bearden and Courtney Charron and their dog Daisy in honor of Rowdy, and Nancy McLaughlin along with Colt, Dallas and Charlotte for sponsoring Darren.

Davey- DOB 2006

Davey is a cute little boy who has been getting some professional training. He knows sit and shake and seems to be housebroken. He likes other dogs and is good for car rides.

Deanna- DOB 2003

Deanna had the pin in her leg removed by the orthopedic surgeon and is doing wonderfully well! Seems like her leg has healed up well enough that she doesn't need the pin anymore. She is still not putting full weight on the leg but is getting stronger every day. Deanna is a sweetheart! She follows us around everywhere and lies at our feet when we are still. She is getting along well with her foster sister and other four legged friends. She sleeps thru the night in the crate and is house broken. She loves to retrieve the ball and drops it at your feet or surrenders it gently in your hand. She gets excited when she sees the leash and has gone for a few walks. Since every thing is new to her, she is very curious and all over the place on the leash. She knows how to sit on command and knows "lay down" pretty well. She's a little thin right now, 63 lbs., but is eating well so this will improve with time. She tolerated a bath without incident. She has had the opportunity to run off or bolt a few times but never has; she just waits for you to bring her back inside.

Thanks to Ray Hebert for sponsoring Deanna. Thanks to Doug Mitchell for sponsoring Deanna. Thanks to Julie Ellison for sponsoring Deanna.

Devin- DOB 2004

Devin is a good boy who just came in. He doesn't know many commands, but does love to play fetch. He also likes belly rubs. He's curious about cats but leaves them alone when told. He's learning "sit" and seems to know "shake." He plays well with other dogs.

Diana- DOB 12-2003

My name is Diana. Although I am shy, I warm up quickly to new people and I just love all the attention!

I'm a quick learner too. I've almost mastered "on your bed", "sit", "down" and "go pottie". I'm getting house trained, but I'm still learning and I might have some accidents on occasion. I'm also learning how to "stay", but I really prefer to be right by your side. I'm getting used to my crate and will sleep through the night. I'd rather sleep on my bed in the bedroom with you all night. I am great on a leash - I don't pull and I "heel" really well.

I get along with other dogs, but I need an introduction to them. I love my foster brother, Duke, and I've learned how to play tug of war with him. Balls, toys and sticks were new to me so I wasn't too sure what to do with them. My foster mom throws them, I "go get" them and bring them back to her, then she throws them for me again. It's a blast and I think she calls it "fetch"!

Anything new takes time for me to get used to - like the car - I'm still not too sure about that, but whenever I get in the car we go somewhere fun, so it's not that bad. I've already had a litter of puppies but am now spayed.

I would love to be in a home with lots of affection and attention. I will play when you want to play and can relax when you want to relax! By the way, my foster mom tells me I have the sweetest face and that I'm so adorable she could just eat me up! I think that's a good thing and I take is as a compliment.

Diesel- DOB 2003

Diesel is a nice big boy who likes to play fetch and rides well in a car. He has met several dogs and has been fine with them.

Dino- DOB 2005

Dino is a sweet boy who already knows sit and is crate-trained. He is very much a typical pup, still likes to chew on a few plants, but is getting better about this. His recent favorite activity is to chase the squirrels out of the yard and guard the pecan trees. He also loves digging up the pecans the squirrels have buried and eat their bounty!

In July Dino went to Kid's Summer Camp at Hearts & Paws and had a blast on the agility course. Dino has just recently started an 8 week basic training class and is very sharp. He is a bit head-strong so some commands take a little patience until he realizes his way is not going to result in praise or a treat. He's good with other dogs however lately he likes to playfully challenge the alpha foster dog. He also loves to "play/harass" with the cat even when the cat lets Dino know it's not fun any more. He tends to jump a bit when first out of his crate and when running full steam across the yard to you, but he's learning that 'four on the floor' gets him the attention he wants. He's a very sweet boy and after checking things out in the house, will settle down with a bone or a nap close by you.

Update 10-22-06 Dino is another one who went to Hutto Old Tyme Days yesterday. He was such an angel and did so well with all of the people who stopped by to see him. He even "protected" his foster mom from a concrete hippo - too cute!

January 2007 - Dino is growing in to a really sweet young dog. He doesn't eat the plants or dig like he did last summer. He LOVES to chase & tree squirrels, retrieve balls (he sometimes likes to play 'keep away' so we are working on showing him it is more fun if he brings it back), and he gets along wonderfully with the other 5 dogs and 1 cat in his foster home. He leans toward being 'top-dog' but will respond to corrections when I catch him posturing over the other dogs. He is a very smart boy and deserves a loving home of his own.

Thanks to Connie Hamilton for sponsoring Dino!!!

Dixie- DOB 2003

Dixie is a nice girl who is a "happy" dog with vigorous tail wagging and Lab smiles all the time. She's pretty, has soft fur, is very affectionate, and likes her belly rubbed. She's playful but calms easily and is extremely gentle with toddlers. She shows some interest in fetching. She knows the following commands: sit, stay, come, lie down. She's a good loose-leash walker too.

Dixie- DOB 2000

Dixie is a pretty yellow, AKC registered, girl who came to us because her previous owners did not have time for her and left her alone all the time in the back yard. She knows sit, stay and come and we are working lie down. She loves her people and will be close by at all times. I do not think that I have encountered a dog who has mastered the labrador lean as well as Dixie. She would do well in a family with children who could lavish her with constant attention. She is a girl in constant motion and would thrive in an active household. She loves to play fetch and will go and go and go, lasting long after you have tired of throwing the ball. While she gets along famously with her foster brother, Dixie would do best in a single dog household. She like to be queen bee whenever possible. She is very trust worthy and has been left out of her crate for long periods with no supervision without issue. She had her first cat encounter last weekend and while they definitely peeked her interest she left them alone. She is very toy oriented. If she has a chew toy or a tennis ball she can entertain herself for hours. If you hide them from her she goes a bit insane looking for it (it is quite cute).

Thanks to Kathie Schafer for sponsoring Dixie!

Doc- DOB 1/15/99

Doc is a big boy-topping the scales at 140. Now to be frank, he does need to drop a few pounds, so he is not really quite that large. To put his size in perspective, look at the third picture. Doc is the one in the background; the one in the foreground is a foster sib(not available) and he still towers over her.UPDATE: Doc had a weigh in yesterday and is down to 126 pounds. Still a bit more to go, but huge strides! Doc is a big ole teddy bear. He is fostering with other dogs and has no issues with them. He also has a 2 yr old toddler to abuse...when she is not abusing him. Every time he sees her, his face lights up and his body starts to wriggle. It is even more pronounced if she has a stuffed animal he thinks he might be able to claim. He is not pushy with her and is very respectful of her space. In addition she has taught him the joys of strawberries! But he does NOT like Jello!

Doc plays ball with pure enthusiasm. He tosses stuffed animals to himself and pounces on them when they hit the ground. He is house broken, but crates very well with hardly a peep. He sleeps through the night quietly by the bed. He does not try to get on the furniture. He knows sit, down and wait; and surprisingly walks pretty well on a leash. He thinks the shower could be great fun as he tries to join me in it each time I take a shower.

He came with a bad yeast infection in his ears and lets me mess with them and takes his drugs like a big boy. His owners had dumped him at their vet since they had a toddler and could not spend enough time with him. Well considering his middle name should be "Burdock" it does not appear difficult to spend enough time with him. :) He is extremely mobile and active considering his size and should be in a great mood once he drops a few pounds. Doc would be a fabulous addition to any family, and one with small children would find him tremendously charming! Please consider the brilliantly funny boy as your next family member.

Dolly- DOB 6/2/03

She is a very pretty girl who gets along well with dogs and cats. She loves people and absolutely adores the kids - it is so much fun when they play chase with me. There is not a mean bone in her body and she so much wants to please us. Dolly is smart, she is learning quickly to sit, shake, stay and knows what NO means. She was curious about what food was on the counter top but after a little swat on the nose and telling her No, she hasn't done it again. She LOVES the water but because of her stitches, from being spayed, she cannot swim...but she does stand in the pool and splash, putting her head in and throwing water around to try and catch it. She looks so cute with a wet face. Dolly walks well on a leash, sleeps all night, rides well in the car and has good house and yard manners, no chewing on furniture or digging up flowers. She is not high energy nor is she too laid back- somewhere in the middle. Everything is in place for her to be a trustworthy, faithful companion. Someone will be very lucky.

Donnie- DOB 2006

Donnie is an adorable 1 year old who behaves like a typical lab puppy. He loves to play with chew toys and bones. When he isn't doing that, he is busy wrestling with our 4 year old lab or curling up at our fe
